One simple thing that I've seen change lives

If your like most people, when you enjoy something, you tell others about it. If you see a movie that you really liked, you will probably tell someone they should see it. You've probably recommended a restaurant to someone or maybe somewhere to go on vacation.

What about church? Simply put, when was the last time you invited someone to church? If you love your church, invite people to it - A LOT! One of the great things that I've seen happen over and over in just 7 services at Summit (WOW, we've only had 7 services so far!!!) is how God uses people simply inviting their friends to church, they come, and are totally changed by the grace of God.

I've seen people invite a friend and that friend give their life to Jesus for the first time. Others invite a friend who hasn't been to church in decades to come to Summit with them, they come and are now serving on a regular basis in the church. People have come who have never been to church in their lives, and what was it that God used to bring them? An invite.

If the message of Jesus and eternal life and the freedom that he gives is true, then why wouldn't you regularly invite people around you to come to church with you to hear that message? If your church has or is making an impact in your life, why not invite others to be a part of it with you? If you love your church, invite someone to go with you. (If you don't love your church & wouldn't invite someone with you . . . that's another blog post)

Let me say something specifically for people at Summit. Before Sunday, let's invite people! I want this to be a part of our DNA - inviting people to church. You never know how God can use it! It can be as simple as something on facebook (& people have come to Summit based solely on a facebook invite). It can be giving one of the invite cards we always have available each Sunday to someone. It can be making a phone call, walking across the street, talking to the person in your class & just inviting them. You never know, God might change their life & he used you as a part of it!
