There should be great churches everywhere

When God called my family and I to plant a church in Hazard, KY, we were really excited. Being from Hazard, I am aware of the need for more churches here and throughout Eastern KY who want to see Jesus lifted up and people transformed. I love this area and the people.

Church planting is really popular right now, and it should be. It is biblical and should never go out of style. There is a lot of talk about planting in major urban centers and suburbs, and there needs to be. But one of the things I have noticed is that there is not a lot of talk about planting in smaller towns or rural settings.

There needs to be great churches everywhere. In New York City, Chicago, Lexington KY, and Hazard KY, and in all small towns and cities all over the world. There are people who need to be reached, people who need the love of Jesus, marriages that need to be healed, men that need to be trained to lead their families and their world, addictions that need to be broken - in every place where there is people.

So while I would urge you to plant churches in larger cities and suburban areas. Don't rule out small towns. And pray that God would raise up an army of planters who are called to the cities and towns that are not on everyone's radar. Wherever there are people, there needs to be great churches.
